![]() Is this still true, comparing the new K3-inkset to the Claria inkset of the SP1400? It used to be that dye-inks had greater color gamut than pigment inks. I know the K3-inkset of the R2880 (or the likely Pro 3880) beats the SP1400 in black and white printing, but for color prints, the SP1400 seems a very strong contender. ![]() While the rating under the same conditions for the Pro 9880, using pigment inks (the new VM K3-inkset) is LOWER, namely 85 years (still respectable): According to Wilhelm Research, the display permanence rating for photos printed on Premium Glossy Photo Paper, displayed and framed under glass, is 98 years: What really surprises me is the longevity of its dye-based prints. In the meantime I've been looking some at the Stylus Photo 1400. ![]() I've been looking at the R2880, but am hoping that the Pro 3880 will be introduced in the near future (Photokina?) (cheaper running costs). ![]() I use the Pro 9880 at work, so am familiar with the new K3 inkset with VM.
